SOPHOMORE/JUNIOR RETREAT

The Church calls all Catholics to set aside some time, away from the distractions of everyday life in order to energize and deepen their relationship with God.  These are known as retreats.

These are times to “retreat” from the world and to speak to God in the silence of one’s own heart and to hear his voice in the beauty of His Creation.

With so many voices and distractions today, we are in so much need of this experience. Usually, retreats can go from weekends, to several days.  Some people make 30 day retreats!

Our Junior and Sophomore retreat is a day of recollection.  Presentations by Father John Large, Pastor of Mater Dolorosa Parish, took place in the gym.  Father Large also celebrated the Sacred Liturgy with us.

In small discussion groups, the students watched excerpts from the movie "The Passion of the Christ".  The recitation of the Sorrowful Mysteries also take place in these smaller groups.  The Rosary was led by Father Santorsola through the TV Studio.   Follow-up discussions will took place after the retreat in religion classes.
